It's the slang name for a newspaper. Well known newspapers aren't often called it but most people call their local paper the local rag.

Twee is a term meaning roughly 'chocolate box' - something which appears falsely neat, maybe a litlle old fashioned like tea rooms and doillies!

"That's pants" was a common phrase amongst kids of a certain age, it means rubbish, bad, uncool, poor, lame, bogus etc etc.

so fairly pants means it was pretty poor but could have been worse.

In 1981 'Bucks Fizz' won the Eurovision Song Contest for the UK.
Rumour has it that the number of votes they recieved came not for the song but the 'Racy' dance routine, where the two boys ripped away the mini skirts of the two girls to reveal micro skirts.
Bucks Fizz went on to build a carreer out of that one dance routine, but the only name I can remember is Cheryl Baker.

So far, as the storyline has gone, Drew is a boy. He has very little testosterone in his system, as noted by the family doctor after bloodwork. So far, it was decided to let it ride for now with no treatments that could cause problems with his riding due to drugs. They are hoping he is just a late bloomer. He may have to take the steroids later, but it will be under doctors direction and the riding associations will have to be aware of it. He has had a full workup by the British riding doctors, but the results and any suggested treatments have never been announced to us. Even in that fanfic, Drew is a boy, but does have a girlish figure, so he has to have special made clothes, and wears a woman's tux if I recall correctly, and is often mistaken as a woman.

In the master storyline, he is slowly developing some secondary female characteristics in body shape and musculature, (panties fit better than tightie whities, or boxers) and has small breasts. His breast devopment has about stopped at this point in the story, but did wear a bra, and a sports bra while riding.

Drew is attracted to girls. In a couple of the fanfics, he seems to have attracted a boy, and/or enjoys kissing him. But the fanfics are just that....fanfics and about anything goes.

Write the story and send it to Maddy. You can contact her through a link on her site, or at the bottom of every episode. You can use whatever language you are comfortable with, but be aware, that it appears the majority of her readers speak/read English as primary. Fans are working on translating Gaby into German, and there is a fan site set up to host it.

The merits of both have been discussed in the story a bit and in the forums. Shimano is less expensive, but quite a bit noisier, and Drew thinks that gives up an edge during a race. he can lsiten to when a peer is changing gears to get set to make a run. he also thinks Campags are much smoother.
